Red Hot Chili Peppers

I have this poster, and I really enjoy it. I could have bought other ones but this one really interested me. I like how the different colored people is reflected in the text at the top. I also think the light swirl the goes around the page is also really successful. I feel like if they hadn't put that in the poster would have been kind of awkward and off. This way all of the colors and aspect of it are brought together.

Beatles

ha this cd cover just makes me laugh. I dont even know hwo's in the photo but I really enjoy it. It looks like there are a bunch of famous people. I enjoy the flowered name in the foreground. I also enjoy how towards the back of the crowd it looks like peoples faces were jut planted on. But in planting them on they did a good job of making it look like a crowd. I just think it's a funny and whimsical cover.

All the Stars and Boulevards

All the Stars and Boulevards is a really interesting cd cover. What I like most about this is that the road goes around the giant human. I also enjoy how it has kind of a cartoon about it. In the sense that isn't well known the story of the giant human that comes and crushes the city. I also like the sky in the background of this cover. Although it's not the main focal point it's really successful.

Let love in

Goo Goo Dolls is probably my favorite band, but their songs and cd covers are always very artfull (if that's a word). This is my favorite. They don't have drawings as their covers instead they use photos. But this is a pretty intense photo. Although it's simple I really enjoy the feeling the girl has in her eye. I also enjoy how they only put half of her face on the cover and not all of it. When I went to their concert they had this as a background for the opening song and it was intense, I really enjoy it.

Love Hurts

This is probably my favorite Incubus Cd cover. It's their most recent cd Love Hurts. I really like how all the art work is on the right side, only text and a sliver of blood is on the left. Even though it's kind of gruesome, I really enjoy how the heart isn't just stabbed with a pair of scissors but also a comb, knife, arrow, and more. It adds a nice touch. I also enjoy how everything except for his face is in red. Red hair, red cloths, red heart, and even one red tear.

Incubus

Incubus Cd covers have always intrigued me. Not only do I love their music but sometimes, you just have no idea what the heck things are. This is one of their more understandable cd covers. I really like how the art work mirrors one another. I also like the bright colors of the background and then how the band members are in black and white.

Dif. Ad

Also from the November 2007 issue of Dwell, I'm not sure I totally love this ad. I think that it's very interesting that the furniture pieces and text is turned to the side. However, I think that they should have atleast turned the text the regular way. The furniture piece being huge and on a plain white background really catches your eye, but if I want to learn more I have to turn the magazine, and most people won't. I know if I'm just flipping through and the ad catches my eye, it's not enough to make me stop flipping and turn the magazine. The ad itself is a Modernica ad.

Dwell Layout

This layout is used in the November 2007 issue of Dwell. I really enjoyed this layout. Simply because how they used the actual picture then drawings of it in different bright colors. I think that it was done very well. The layout continues on other pages where they do the same thing but use different colors. These pages really caught my eye not for the architecture but the layout.

Gap

I really like the way this ad is laid out. There's not that much text but the multicolored pictures is such an eye grabber. I really enjoy how they show all the different colors on the left side of the ad and then the colors are reflected again in the models scarf. I think Gap did an awesome job with this ad and if I had money this ad would def. sell the sweater to me.

sweetness

I really like how Richard Hutten's website is designed. The opening page has pieces he's designed changing into different forms. Then when you actually go to a page, lets say furniture, each piece just shows the contour with no color. Until, you place the mouse over the piece, then the color of it appears. I think this is really interesting, and it gets your attention. Not to mention his designs are sweet. www.richardhutten.com
